February 2017
Dear Mr./Mrs.,

As you may have read in the last newsletter, 2015–2016 was a good year for Nyenrode Business Universiteit. It was also a successful year for the Executive Education & Organizational Development (EEOD) division. Turnover grew by 10%, to nearly €18 million.

At Nyenrode, EEOD focuses on ensuring that organizations and their employees become or remain futureproof. On the one hand, we have Open Programs for which participants can register individually. On the other hand, we offer customized services and programs for organizations.

Alongside an upturn in the economic climate, the impact of changes such as the digital transformation is one of the main reasons why there is major need to keep people's competences up-to-date. Within the range of Open Programs, the Professional Programs in particular show clearly that the existing portfolio is being continuously updated. In the case of Customized Programs, changes in the demands from our customers are even more clear. It is no longer just about providing a tailor-made leadership program, but also helping analyze existing problems and then helping to look for possible solutions. This means that we have to get into the shoes of the customer and get in-depth insight into his or her organization.

Together with our professors, we have a broad range of experts who we can deploy on a multidisciplinary basis. Where necessary, we can supplement our own competencies by using our network and hiring in people. Thankfully, Nyenrode has a strong reputation, and it is therefore never a problem to get people to commit to us.

The current year is also very promising, and we are involved in a range of projects to further strengthen our EEOD organization. The purpose of this is to be able to further improve how we help our customers.

Social hackaton
In the weekend of February 11 and 12, 50 young thinkers worked intensively on suggestions and ideas for a new 'social contract'. Under the leadership of initiators Doekle Terpstra and Jo Vincken of Nyenrode, 24 hours were spent intensively exchanging ideas, holding debates, writing, editing and polishing texts.

The major variety of results from the weekend ensured that the weekend turned out to be a starting point for a follow-up discussion with many groups in society, rather than a clearly delineated social contract. This also makes the harvest valuable, says an enthusiastic Doekle Terpstra.
