January 2017
Dear Mr./Mrs.,

At this time of year, most of us have our faces fixed firmly on the future, busily making plans for the year ahead. However, it's worth taking a moment to look back at the year behind us.

Just like I reported a year ago, I'm delighted to reveal that Nyenrode once again returned excellent figures for the 2015/16 academic year, which was the result of the collective efforts of all our staff. Here are just a few examples: The number of enrollments for Accountancy rose by almost 40% compared to the previous year. Our full-time MSc in Management program had an almost 30% increase in new students. Executive Education is also in the lift, with turnover in the general management and corporate governance programs seeing an upsurge of more than 20%.

The upshot of all this expansion is that we are witnessing some handsome financial returns. Nyenrode Foundation's turnover, which includes activities in Breukelen and Nyenrode New Business School in Amsterdam, grew by 6% in 2016 to 55.3 million euros, with net profits amounting to 1.9 million euros.

These financial gains show that investments made over the last few years are finally paying off, despite a sluggish start. Having upgraded our student administration and CRM system, and improving our work processes in countless other ways, we will be in a position to address the needs of students, participants and businesses much more effectively and establish a platform on which to attain an even better performance in the future.

Finally, I would like to offer you all my best wishes for happiness, health and inspiration in 2017!

Best wishes,

Drs. Remmelt Vetkamp MSc
Financial Director of Nyenrode Business Universiteit
